​This group caters for those wishing to write autobiography, memoir, biography, family history, life story for family and local history. Established in 2002 by Mardi May, the group publishes regular anthologies for members to showcase their work.

Past Tense is a monthly workshop group writing memoirs, biographies or autobiographies, as well as poetry – just about any written form that expresses writer’s experiences of the past. Usually, the group publishes an anthology of short pieces at the end of the year, however, due to the change of facilitator, there will not be a publication in 2026.

Dr Godfrey is hoping to see many old and new members for the final workshops of the year. There is always cake and biscuits, and plenty of healthy discussion about aspects of writing and publishing work. Authors are encouraged to share their work for constructive feedback as per KSP Guidelines.
