   NaNoWriMo Group

Meets: Mondays during October & November, 10.00am - 2.00pm

Costs payable in cash on the day: $5 KSP-members/$10 non-members

Want to write a novel but are struggling to start or indeed, finish? Why not take your head out of the equation and rip out a novel in just four weeks.

The popular National Novel Writing Month (shortened to NaNoWriMo) challenge asks contenders to write 50,000 words in November. KSP Writers’ Centre provides a weekly meeting space specifically for NaNoWriMo contenders and novel writers, designed to bring people together and provide peer motivation to help writers achieve the coveted word target.

Sessions in October offer feature guest talks about the challenge, and provide writers with the chance to meet and share their ideas for a novel, and help each other plot and prepare. The November days will be dedicated to serious writing!

Consider joining the Room to Write Group to keep up your flow of writing on Friday afternoons as well. The finished product won’t be perfect, but it will be a full manuscript under your belt which you can then re-work and polish. Successful NaNo writers also win a nifty certificate. Visit the NaNo website for more details.

Please note that you are welcome to attend this group even if you haven’t officially signed up for NaNoWriMo – perhaps you could benefit from a full day to work on your novel without distraction.
